April Supper Club

Oh wow, are we happy that it's finally Spring time. Time to get out of the house and enjoy some of the bounty that Nature has begun to put forth. The tickets to this month's dinner on April 26th are up and ready for purchase!

Our menu this month is inspired by two things. First of all, our Greek roots. For those of you who don't know, Cindy Messinger's Grandfather, who founded the Mt. Vernon in the 1950's, was a Greek immigrant. We'll be serving Southern-inspired Greek dishes like pecan baklava glazed with local honey. The other influence is the book Supper of the Lamb by Robert Farrar Capon and we'll following some of his enlightened instructions for making lamb stew.

Just to wet your whistle a bit between now and next Saturday, we thought we'd share some photos of this month's appetizer: Neidlov's bread with housemade herbed ricotta...

Are y'all as excited about this week's supper club as we are? Since Saturday is quickly approaching, we thought we'd give you a little preview of dinner to wet your whistle. This is our main entree, fresh pasta topped with homemade hot chicken bolognese, which is cooked down with sausage made right here in Tennessee at Porter Road Butcher.
